La Toei Animation
(東映アニメーション Tōei
Animēshon) è un anime studio che appartiene alla Toei animation
company. Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata, e Yoichi Kotabe hanno lavorato per la
compagnia in passato. Sin dalla sua fondazione nel 1956, la toei ha creato
moltissime serie TV, e film, molti dei quali famosi a livello mondiale.
Inizialmente ha prodotto molti lussuosi musical prodotti dal 1950 al 1970. la
competività della televisione ha costretto la toei ad adottare uno stile più
tipico del mondo degli anime. fino al 1998, la toei era conosciuta come la Toei
Doga (東映動画), (attualmente la compagnia inglese si chiama infatti
"toei animation co. ltd). con "do ga" che è divenuta la parola più largamente usata nell'animazione
giapponese fino al 1970.
